Since its spin-off from the GEOMAR Helmholtz Center in 2018, osteolabs has launched the OsteoTest product family for the early determination of individual bone calcium loss. Numerous patients have been able to determine their personal risk of potential diseases such as osteoporosis and fatigue fractures.

About osteolabs

osteolabs GmbH is the first spin-off from the GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel. Since our foundation in 2018, we have been offering the OsteoTest, an early detection test for the loss of bone calcium (and the associated increased risk of osteoporosis).


The osteolabs team was deliberately put together in an interdisciplinary and heterogeneous manner and today consists of researchers, doctors, laboratory managers, entrepreneurs as well as technical and financial experts.

Advisory Board

The osteolabs Advisory Board advises the company and management on strategic and business issues and consists of experienced strategic consultants from various industries.


Together, we are pooling our knowledge and experience in biology, medicine, physics, chemistry, medical technology and business administration. In this way, we want to help a globally unique diagnostic procedure to succeed and contribute to tackling one of the most widespread diseases.
